This Traverse City Medical Office building presented many challenges to the design team at Kerridge Construction. The restrictive zoning requirements placed the building in a narrow portion of a city site. Sided by a public rail line on one side and a city street on the other and the need to meet all setback and parking requirements without variance, the architects at Kerridge, created a dual flow medical office, meeting the program and budget requirements of the client.
The design reflects the street corner location, anchoring its spot in Traverse City and giving the clients a distinctive and memorable building for them and their patients. A careful use of materials and the extensive use of a high window band provide extensive natural lighting to all patient rooms, as well as visual and sound privacy. The design-build process enabled this project to be designed and built in less than eleven months and within budget. The end result for the client was a building that supports their unique practice and a significant gain in patient appointments and service capabilities.
